1. Select Direct Pay with bank account (By using the bank account option, you will not have a convenience fee, most recommended).
2. Below “Personal tax payments” click “Pay individual tax”
3. Make a payment
   • Reason for Payment: Balance Due
   • Apply payment to: Income Tax Form 1040
   • Tax Period for Payment: 20XX

The IRS will then want to verify your identity. Choose the prior tax year for verification, not the current year you are trying to pay.

2. In the middle of the page you will see a Box that says Payments and then Make a Payment.
3. Select Individual
   • Filing Period: 12/31/XX
   • Payment Type: Return Payment
   • Amount: Enter Amount
